Green Mile delayed indefinitely

I spoke with a dog behavior specialist. Black dog doesn't know her, but he should really send a thank-you card because she is the only reason he is not begging for attention from strangers at the Humane Society right now.

She was kind enough to take some time with me on the phone and offer insight into Black dog's behavior. She asked a lot of questions and I answered them.

Based on the fact that he has not shown any aggression towards people, we are keeping him.

If he ever shows aggression towards people, or God help him, Maggie, he will get his walking papers immediately.

We will watch him. CLOSELY.

This news may be met with dismay by some of his victims.
I can imagine that Tilly was looking forward to witnessing his execution. I think she wanted to watch his ass fry. And why wouldn't she? Lucy
is is still nursing her puncture wound and is probably still confused as to why her friend turned on her. I don't know why he did what he did. It's hard to get inside a dog's head. Let's just say the dog has issues. He is no longer allowed around any dogs at all. We will see to it that he gets no more opportunities to maim and maul.

I do love black dog. He will be watched very closely. If he even looks at Madge funny he is out of here. For now though, he will stay at home with us.

Is he neutered? I'm guessing so, but I thought I would ask anyway.

You are a kind person to go to such lengths to understand your pet, but a reasonable person as well. I think your decision makes sense

It makes sense to me, too. Although necause my daughter has two friends whose toddlers were attacked by dogs, one a family pet who had been nothing but gentle prior to this incident and the other a neighbor's dog who this family was dogsitting, I'd err on the side of caution and not leave the baby alone with the dog

Sob. I hate trouble with pets.

I have a cat that I had to declaw because I was fearful that she would hurt my yet-to-be-born son. I felt so wicked for putting her through that, but knew it was necessary (she mauled my arm during the vet appt to discuss it; that convinced the vet.)

Then she learned to bite instead.

We considered what to do when my second son was born. We couldn't in good faith give her to another family, but I did not have the heart to put her to sleep. Thankfully, she adapted to life as an outside cat and hasn't tried to hurt either of my sons. Whew!

Best of luck to you.

I NEVER leave either dog along with my daughter. Even our mild mannered golden. They are dogs after all and we can't expect them to know any better.

I hate to even post this, but I must. A friend of mine's one year old daughter was just mauled by her Mother In Law's Laborador recently. The dog tore her face up badly. The heartbreak they are all experiencing is unreal... It makes me sick. I am a dog lover and have a lab myself, but....

God, I'm so sorry, but I just had to tell you. Best of luck.
